Disney+ has debuted its first trailer and we finally get to see Kate Bishop, the new female lead in Marvel’s upcoming series The Eternals.
Marvel’s Kate Bishop Debuts in First Disney+ Trailer is a new superhero film that will be released on November 12th.
Trailer for Hawkeye
The first Hawkeye teaser for the forthcoming Disney+ program has been released by Marvel Studios. Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) has been a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Phase 1, first appearing in Thor and then joining Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers. Renner was recruited to assist Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige unveil the standalone Hawkeye show at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, which would be released as part of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During the presentation in Hall H, Feige and Renner also revealed that the Hawkeye show will include Kate Bishop, a fan favorite comic character.
Hailee Steinfeld was cast as Kate Bishop in the two years after the SDCC announcement, and unauthorized set pictures from Hawkeye revealed her shooting sequences with Renner. Another favorite from the comics, Lucky the Pizza Dog, would feature in the show, according to set pictures, while Alaqua Cox’s hiring as Maya Lopez aka. Echo hinted at the presence of another Marvel hero. The Black Widow post-credits sequence also confirmed Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova’s presence in Hawkeye, despite the fact that it was reported in late 2023. Though Marvel has provided snippets and teasers for the forthcoming program, the Hawkeye trailer has finally been revealed.
After Renner teased the premiere of the Hawekeye show on Instagram, Marvel Studios published the teaser. Hawkeye is confirmed to be a Christmas program in the trailer, and most of the teaser focuses on establishing Clint and Kate’s relationship. Kate Bishop is introduced in the video because she is mistaken for Clint’s second alter-ego, Ronin, who is being hunted for due to his past in Avengers: Endgame’s five-year time leap. Below is a trailer for Hawkeye.
Aside from establishing up Clint and Kate’s romance in Hawkeye, the teaser is short on teasing other elements of the Marvel program that are confirmed to be featured. There’s a single close-up picture of Cox’s Echo and another of Vera Farmiga’s Eleanor, Kate’s mother, but no look at Pugh’s Yelena. It’s conceivable that Marvel will keep Yelena’s role in the program under wraps until its premiere, particularly if it’s minor. According to the Hawkeye teaser, Clint and Kate will have their hands full dealing with some bad people Clint enraged while he was Ronin, but it’s unclear how Echo and Eleanor will figure into the show’s narrative.
The Hawkeye teaser also features Rogers: The Musical, a Hamilton-style in-universe musical about Steve Rogers’ life, as well as another peek at the MCU’s post-Endgame reality. Much of the world thinks Steve is dead or, according to certain theories, on the moon, but the MCU hasn’t verified where he is, so there’s a possibility he got to see his own show, as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier revealed. The Hawkeye teaser also includes a short clip of the musical, although it’s unknown how much more, if any, will be featured in the series. Still, it’s a fun way to expand the MCU (and Rogers: The Musical seems to be doing better than the real-life Marvel musical Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark). Along with world-building, the Hawekeye teaser shows a fascinating interaction between Clint and Kate, which will heighten anticipation for the show’s November premiere.
On November 24th, Hawkeye will premiere on Disney+.
